EU to extend sanctions against Russians and Ukrainian rebels

The EU is set to extend sanctions against Russian and Ukrainian individuals until March 2016, EU Observer reports. The sanction impose asset freezes and travel bans on 150 people and 37 firms. They target pro-Russian leadership in Ukraine, as well as close affiliates of Putin. Separate sanctions on Russia’s banking, arms and energy sectors have previously been extended until the end of January.
