EU funds for Bulgaria target border security

The EU is granting Bulgaria more than 100 million euros in emergency funding to deal with the migrant crisis, of which about 80 percent is slated for border security and surveillance, EU Observer reports. Migrant arrivals in Bulgaria are currently lower than they were a year ago but higher than at the beginning of 2016. There are now about 14,000 migrants stuck in Bulgaria, and Turkey is refusing to accept migrant returns.
