Bulgaria’s Georgieva hints she might join race to become UN chief

EU budget chief Kristalina Georgieva said in New York she is honored that many people are encouraging her to run for UN secretary-general and she is leaving the decision to the Bulgarian government. EurActiv reports this is the first time Georgieva has hinted she is ready to enter the race for UN boss. Bulgaria’s current candidate, UNESCO chief Irina Bokova, is performing poorly in the polls, and Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov has hinted he would consider replacing her following the straw poll on Monday.
