Romania: cleaning up needs stamina

EU Observer publishes an opinon piece written by Romanian energy strategist Corina Murafa who says Romania has a lot more work to do on political reforms, even though it has been prosecuting numerous political leaders in corruption cases. Corruption remains systemic despite the arrests, and Romania’s electoral system makes it very difficult to form new parties. Transparency in party financing is also a problem, Murafa writes.
