Turkey’s Erdogan accuses New York Times of meddling in country’s affairs

Erdogan is now lashing out against the New York Times, saying in a televised speech on Monday, “As a newspaper, you should know your place.” On Friday, the Times ran an editorial criticizing Erdogan’s rule and accusing him of a crackdown ahead of the upcoming Turkish elections. Erdogan said in his speech that the New York Times was meddling in Turkey’s affairs and overstepping the limits of freedom.
