Kremlin refuses to deny that it is behind the murder of Boris Nemtsov

Politician and critic of President Vladimir Putin Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2021 in Moscow.  “His death was a tragedy for Russia and had a huge impact on the political climate, arousing fear and opening up the possibility of subsequent unpunished attacks,” an OSCE report said. However, the ruling in Russia denied having anything to do with the assassination, and weaknesses in the Russian authorities’ investigation left many questions about Nemtsov’s murder unanswered.

Russia’s politician Yevgeny Roizman has sharply criticized those responsible for the assassination of Boris Nemtsov on “Echo of Moscow” radio. In his view, the Kremlin knows perfectly well who is behind the execution of the opposition leader.

“Many people believe that the authorities are responsible for the murder. It could only refute this in one way - a speedy, high-quality investigation into the murder and the detection of the real suitors. This has not happened, no one is serious about the case and the belief that the Kremlin stands behind the assassination is solidifying,” commented Roisman.

Many international analysts, relatives and colleagues of Nemtsov express confidence that the attack on the opposition was commissioned by one of President Putin’s entourage.
