Russian intelligence regularly registers convoys bringing oil from east Syria to Turkey, Iraq

In the latest development between the strange bedfellows Russia and Turkey, the Chief of General Staff of Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reportedly said Russian intelligence regularly observes caravans of tankers transporting oil from eastern Syria to Turkey and Iraq. Gerasimov also said the money from the sales of gas is being used to finance Islamic State militants, Ahval reports, citing the Turkish daily Cumhuriyet.
