Today’s Wall Street Journal notes the growing dissatisfaction of the Turks with the stagnating economy and wonders whether that may deny Erdogan the electoral victory he needs on June 7 in order to transform the country into a presidential republic. According to recent polls, only a third of the Turks now approve of the way the economy is run and electoral approval of Erdogan’s AKP is down to 42% from the 52% achieved at the polls last year.
