Turkish court sentences German-Kurdish singer to six years in prison

A Turkish court sentenced German-Kurdish singer Hozan Cane to six years and three months in prison, claiming she is part of the PKK, Deutsche Well reports. Cane was arrested in June at a campaign event for the pro-Kurdish HDP held prior to Turkey’s national elections.
