Russia stops release of UN North Korea report

Russia blocked the release of a UN report that details North Korean violations of UN-imposed sanctions on its nuclear and missile programs, Deutsche Welle reports. Media that have already reviewed the document say the report found Pyongyang has not stopped its nuclear and missile programs and continues to defy UN resolutions through a massive increase in illicit ship-to-ship transfers of petroleum products, as well as through transfers of coal at sea. Moscow is reportedly objecting to an element of the report claiming North Korea exceeded its 2018 import cap for oil.
