The Moscow Times cites a report in the Kommersant newspaper stating Russian oil giant Rosneft is preparing to sell its assets in Chechnya, as well as a controlling stake in its subsidiary in the region, to the Chechen government. Rosneft’s assets in Chechnya were recently valued at $215. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has for years lobbied Putin for greater control of Chechnya’s oil assets.
