Powerful Chechen clan accused of plotting Kadyrov assassination

The Moscow Times cites a report in Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta stating a powerful clan in Chechnya has been accused of plotting to kill Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. The clan reportedly blames Kadyrov for the deaths of the brothers Sulim Yamadayev, a former army commander, and Ruslan Yamadayev, a politician. The siblings of the two victims reportedly sought to settle their brothers’ deaths in a violent a blood feud, something still common in Chechnya.
