Macedonia postpones elections amid battle of nerves

Following pressure from the EU and U.S., Macedonia’s parliament voted to postpone early elections from April 24 to June 5, Balkan Insight reports. Brussels and Washington had said Skopje was not ready to hold fair elections due to state influence over the media and an electoral roll that contained fake voters. Macedonia is still trying to resolve a political crisis pertaining to abuse of power by recently resigned PM Nikola Gruevski and other officials in the ruling party.
