Bulgaria is amending its Defense and Armed Forces Act so that its military can play an active role in patrolling the border to stop illegal immigrants, Balkan Insight reports. Sofia is expecting an upsurge in migrant numbers this spring. Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov, who called for the policy change, met earlier this week with Eastern Europe leaders who oppose mass migration.
