Macedonian prime minister to resign as agreed

Embattled Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski says he will resign before an EU-imposed deadline of Jan. 15, Balkan Insight reports.  Gruevski agreed to resign at least 100 days before the April 24 early parliamentary elections in Macedonia. Gruevski is accused of mass surveillance and numerous abuses of power, but he has remained the leader of Macedonia’s ruling party and has been aiming to win the April election.
