The return of war? Turkey’s southeast plunges into ‘worst violence in years’

The Telegraph runs a piece on the fighting in southeastern Turkey where Turkish forces killed 110 Kurdish militants last week. Two Turkish soldiers and five civilians also died. The Turkish operation against the PKK was the largest of its kind since the collapse of the two-year ceasefire, and most of the fighting took place in urban areas. Ayhan Irmez, an MP with the pro-Kurdish HDP, said the violence was the worst to take place in the region in years.
