Europe’s energy companies go back to business with Russia

Carnegie’s Judy Dempsey comments on European energy companies agreeing to build a second Nord Stream pipeline and conduct asset swaps with Gazprom. Europe’s big energy companies are showing interest in taking a business as usual approach with Russia, despite the ongoing Ukraine crisis and sanctions. But, Russia needs technology and reliable markets, and it cannot depend solely on China for exports and trade, Dempsey writes.
