Turkish forces killed 771 ‘PKK rebels’ in past month: state media

Turkey is continuing to bombard Kurdish militants while effectively ignoring ISIS. AFP cites Turkish state media in reporting that Turkish forces have killed 771 Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in Northern Iraq and Southeastern Turkey over the last four weeks. 430 Kurdish militants reportedly died in Turkish air raids on PKK camps in Northern Iraq, and 260 were killed in ground operations in Southeastern Turkey. All of the attacks have occurred since Turkey announced it would join the U.S.-led coalition in the fight against ISIS. Turkey has carried out just three official air strikes against ISIS.
