Fighting between Turkey and Kurds escalate amid NATO unease

Turkey is continuing to bomb the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), whom Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu describes as no different than ISIS, AP reports. NATO held an emergency meeting Tuesday, at Turkey’s request, and urged Ankara to resume peace efforts with Kurdish representatives. At the meeting, NATO declared solidarity with Turkey’s fight against ISIS, but in doing so, it may have informally given approval to Turkey’s bombing campaign against the Kurds.
