Police detain 297 in anti-terror operations across Turkey

Turkey announced Friday that police arrested a total of 297 militants in raids targeting ISIS, as well as the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), Zaman reports. After Monday’s suicide bombing in Turkey, the PKK killed two Turkish police officers, claiming it was retaliation for Turkish police collaboration with ISIS. Ankara has since reversed its stance and is now carrying out air strikes against ISIS and allowing the U.S. to make use of a Turkish air base for its air strikes on ISIS.
