Ex-World Bank economist to become Moldovan prime minister

Moldova is soon to have a new pro-western prime minister to head a new pro-EU coalition that has 52 of 101 seats in the parliament. Maia Sandu, Moldova’s education minister and a former World Bank economist, will likely be confirmed as prime minister next week, Deutsche Welle reports. Sandu forced previous prime minister Chiril Gaburici to resign in June after an investigation indicated he forged his high school diploma.
