Top U.S. general backs giving lethal weapons to Ukraine

U.S. General Mark Milley, the nominee to become the next Army chief of staff, said Washington should seriously consider arming Kiev with lethal weapons. Milley also said he agrees with the stance of incoming Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Corp Commandant Joe Dunford, who said Russia poses the greatest threat to the U.S. The Obama Administration has for months considered sending lethal weapons to Ukraine, but has not done so.
