Bosnian Serbs approve referendum challenging national court

The autonomous Serb region of Bosnia is planning to hold a referendum on the national court’s authority over Bosnian Serbs, RFE/RL reports. U.S. and EU officials are opposed to the move, and are growing increasingly concerned that Bosnia is at risk of unraveling. Russia, a traditional ally of Serbia, has not opposed Republika Srpsa seeking more autonomy. Milorad Dodik, the president of Republika Srpsa, has said he would pursue Bosnian Serb secession unless Bosnian Serbs are granted greater powers.
