Romania’s PM in corruption and money laundering charges

Romania’s anti-corruption agency (DNA) says it is stepping up its case against leftist Prime Minister Victor Ponta, who faces charges of corruption, forgery, money laundering, tax evasion and conflict of interest, EU Observer reports. The DNA says the criminal acts occurred while Ponta was working as a lawyer. Prosecutors temporarily seized assets belonging to Ponta on Monday.
