Ukrainian soldiers and police engaged in an armed standoff in Western Ukraine over the weekend with nationalist militia Right Sector. At least two people died following a gun and grenade battle. Right Sector contributed to the overthrow of the Yanukovych regime and has helped fight Russian-backed separatists in Eastern Ukraine, but tensions have since risen between the militia and Ukraine’s current pro-western government. About 200 Right Sector supporters rallied outside the presidential administration in Kiev on Sunday.
