Romanian prosecutors seize Lukoil assets

Romanian prosecutors seized assets worth as much as 2 billion euros from Russian oil firm Lukoil, briefly causing it to shut down its local refinery, Reuters reports. Investigators raided Lukoil offices in Romania last October as part of a probe into tax evasion and money laundering operations. Prosecutors have since expanded their investigation. The head of the local Lukoil firm and five other employees, including two Russian citizens, face allegations of misusing company credit and money laundering.
