Greece planning €2bn gas deal with Russia

As Greece is negotiating a bailout with the EU, its leftist energy minister, Panayotis Lafazanis, has announced that Athens will defy Brussels and construct its section of Russia’s planned Turkish Stream pipeline. The Greek leg of the gas pipeline is a 2 billion euro project. Industry experts doubt Turkish Stream can be built and financed in the next few years as Russia plans.
