Ukraine has stopped purchasing gas from Russia, as of Wednesday, after Moscow insisted on reducing Kiev’s discount by 60 percent in the summer months, Bloomberg reports. Kiev, with help of the EU, tried to reach a deal that would secure Ukraine’s gas supply through the upcoming winter, but Russia refused. Ukraine is currently buying gas supplies from EU countries.
