Despite assurances, Bulgaria fears a spillover of trouble from Greece

A New York Times piece discusses the possible spillover that could occur if Greece defaults on its debts and drops out of the eurozone. Four of Bulgaria’s top 10 banks are owned by Greek lenders. There is also concern that a spillover could affect Serbia, Macedonia and Romania, three other countries that Greek banks targeted in their now-abandoned effort to expand into foreign markets.
