Hundreds killed in grisly attacks tied to Islamic State during Ramadan

On Friday, a gunman killed 39 people at a Tunisian beach resort, a suicide bomber killed 27 people at a Sh’ite mosque in Kuwait, IS fighters killed 146 civilians in Kobani, Syria and Al-Shebab militants killed and beheaded more than 50 people at an African Union base in Somalia. Additionally, an Islamist tried to blow up a factory in France, and the severed head of the man’s boss was found attached to the factory gates. The Islamic State is claiming responsibility for most of the bloodshed. Earlier this week, IS spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani called on Muslims to use Ramadan as an opportunity to carry out jihad and become martyrs, RFE/RL reports.
