Kurds accuse Turkey of allowing IS attack on Kobani

Voice of America reports that the co-leader of Turkey’s pro-Kurdish party, HDP, has said there is a high probability that Ankara facilitated the Islamic State’s assault on Kobani, a Syrian town near the Turkish border. Figen Yüksekdağ said Ankara has been supporting IS for years. The Turkish government has recently expressed disappointment over the gains made by the Syrian Kurdish militia, the PYD, which controls Kobani. Ankara claims the PYD is an extension of the PKK, which has been fighting the Turkish government since 1984.
