‘Putin risk’ scares investors, prompts calls for insurance

A Kyiv Post piece states that Putin, not corruption, bureaucracy or lack of rule of law, has become the biggest risk scaring investors away from Ukraine. Even though the price is right, investors are unwilling to throw money at Ukraine after having seen Putin annex Crimea and invade the eastern part of the country. As a solution, Kyiv Post explores the idea of government funds, like ones that already exist in the U.S., and Canada, where countries would offer insurance to businesses that invest in Ukraine.
