The Journal of Turkish Weekly picks up a BIRN investigation into the growing threat posed by jihadists in the Balkans. Italy’s interior ministry has identified five cells of radical Balkan Muslims that are operating in Italy and are recruiting jihadist fighters for the Islamic State. The jihadist cells are operating in Italian communities consisting of Muslim emigrants from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Bosnia.
