Secret videos fuel Macedonia coup frenzy

The Macedonian government says that opposition leader Zoran Zaev is guilty of espionage, while Zaev’s party accuses Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of eavesdropping on thousands of citizens. As proof of its claim, the government has published videos in which Gruevski secretly recorded Zaev saying he obtained evidence of government eavesdropping from foreign agents. Zaev had threatened to publish the material and says that he was not telling Gruevski the truth as to where he obtained it. Opposition members also say it is scandalous that the prime minister secretly recorded his rival.
