The U.S. military is planning to remove from Turkey the 300 Patriot missiles it has stationed along the Syrian border, Fox News reports. The missiles have been deployed there since 2013 to protect Turkey from possible Syrian missile strikes. Last month, the Turkish military endangered U.S. forces in Northern Iraq by launching a surpise air strike on Kurdish militants in the area. A State Department official claimed the decision to pull the Patriot missiles from Turkey has nothing to do with the Turkish air strike that endangered U.S. troops.
