Poland and Romania are taking leading roles in Eastern Europe in responding to Russian aggression, Defense News reports. Both have agreed to host US-made missile interceptors in attempt to boost NATO air and anti-missile defense capabilities in the region. Poland is also in the middle of a 10-year, $36 billion military modernization program. Russia has reportedly deployed Iskander ballistic missiles to Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave that borders Poland and Lithuania.
