Russia under threat from U.S. natural gas

Following a recent move by Gazprom to auction off gas to Baltic states Latvia and Lithuania, oilprice.com runs a piece stating Russia can no longer strong-arm its customers into inequitable deals. U.S. shale producers and other countries that are increasing oil and gas output are forcing Gazprom to lower its prices and compete in markets where it previously faced no competition.
