Major doubts over workability of EU-Turkey migrant deal

On Sunday, Europe is supposed to start sending refugees who arrive on the Greek islands back to Turkey. An Economist piece casts doubt on whether the EU’s migrant deal with Turkey will actually work. Greece has shown little capacity to manage refugee flows, Turkey has shown little willingness to cooperate and migrants keep finding alternative routes to Europe. Also, the plan to grant Turkey visa-free travel to the EU is not popular in Europe.
