Daily: Turkish border officers cooperate with ISIL

Today’s Zaman cites a report in Turkish daily newspaper Cumhuriyet which states wiretapped phone calls have revealed Turkish military officers cooperated with an Islamic State leader and let smugglers cross Turkey’s border with Syria. The IS leader whom Turkish officers were talking with has links to the man who ordered the October Ankara bombing that killed more than 100 people. Turkish prosecutors are currently probing additional links between IS and Turkey’s military, according to court documents.
