Nato allies at odds over Turkey’s attack on Syria Kurds

Nato allies France and the U.S. have urged NATO member and supposed ally, Turkey, to stop firing at Kurds in Syria, EU Observer reports. Turkey shelled the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia over the weekend, killing dozens of people in Northern Syria. The YPG recently crossed over a “red line” set by Ankara and seized more territory along Turkey’s border, including the Menagh air base. Russia has been aiding the YPG advance by carrying out airstrikes.
