Turkey deployed ground troops in Northern Iraq on Tuesday for the first time since 2011, RFE/RL reports. Kurdish militants have killed 31 Turkish military and police personnel over the past few days. Turkey’s operation into Iraq is reportedly aimed at hunting down two dozen PKK militants who escaped over the border after carrying out the attacks.
