Moody’s forecasts Russian recession will run into 2016

Moody’s Investor Service is now forecasting that Russia’s recession will extend into 2016, RFE/RL reports. Moody’s was projecting Russian growth would be flat in 2016, but it is now forecasting a decline by between .5 percent and 1.5 percent, citing a drop in commodity prices and China’s economic slowdown. Moody’s is predicting the Russian economy will contract by 3.6 percent to 4.6 percent this year.
