Spike in Romanians, small rise in Bulgarians moving to Northern Ireland

BBC reports a sharp rise in the number of Romanians coming to live in Northern Ireland. More than 1,400 Romanians registered for UK medical cards in Northern Ireland in 2014. In each of the previous four years, 200-300 Romanians registered for medical cards. Last year, more than 400 Bulgarians registered for medical cards, compared to about 100 in each of the previous four years. EU law made Romanians and Bulgarians eligible to live and work in the UK, starting in 2014.
