Georgia warns Russia against escalation near breakaway region

Russian soldiers who are occupying the breakaway Georgian region South Ossetia have installed border signposts that cut off Georgian citizens from their farmland, AFP reports. The new border signs moved the demarcation line 800 meters deeper into Georgian territory, Georgian media have reported. Last month Russian soldiers effectively snatched part of an international gas pipeline, also by moving border markers. On Monday, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili said, “The enemy is testing out patience on a daily basis.”
