Greek MPs pass bailout austerity laws

The Greek parliament voted 229 to 64 on Wednesday night to approve the austerity measures in the planned third bailout of Greece, EU Observer reports. 39 members of Prime Minister Alexis Tispras’s governing Syriza party, including ex-finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, voted against the austerity conditions. The neo-fascist Golden Dawn was the only party to oppose the bailout conditions. On Thursday, eurozone finance ministers will discuss providing 7 billion euros in short-term financing to Greece. The entire bailout package is expected to consist of 86 billion euros of loans over three years.
