The Kyiv Post reports that Kremlin-backed insurgents attempted to take over the Donetsk airport Sunday night, but Ukrainian troops maintained control of the airport. In a 24-hour span of fighting, the death toll totaled 9 Ukrainian soldiers, 50 insurgents and 3 civilians.
