Russian embassy defends false ossuary after no Soviet soldier is killed in Bulgaria
The Russian embassy in Sofia last week expressed its outrage over the erection of an ossuary in the capital’s Lozenets neighborhood, calling it a “blasphemous act of vandalism against a mass grave of Soviet soldiers in Sofia”. Deputy Speaker Peter Tolstoy even insistsnot only does Moscow react sharply to attempts to destroy Soviet monuments in Eastern Europe, but also to expel ambassadors of those countries from Russia.

The provocation against the Soviet Army ossuary in Lozenets Quarter was not accidentally organized on February 13, the day when we celebrated 77 years since the assassination of Gen. Lukov from communist terrorists, at the behest of the Kremlin. Although such vandalism should not be tolerated, this is a false ossuary dedicated to the occupier of Bulgaria - the Red Army. It is known that in the territory of our country there are no dead Soviet soldiers, no bullets were fired at the occupier. The Russian Embassy must provide indiaputed evidence - are there any mortal remains beneath this mound and whose they are. Moreover, it is not excluded that people close to the BSP and other left parties are related to this vandal actto compromise the Bulgarians who protect their national dignity and not enslave to a foreign country.
