The Kremlin fears that the vassal of Belarus is flirting with the US opponent
Russia has expressed claims to Alexander Lukashenko following the official visit of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Minsk in January. The Kremlin has even “scandalized” the Belarusian president, accusing him of flirting with an “adversary” who is questioning future good relations between Belarus and Russia, BelTA news agency reports.

Alexander Lukashenko blamed the ruling government in Russia for dirty manipulation and insincerity.
“Russia were concerned. What more did we do than them? Look at them, the Russians try passionately to kiss the Americans. Ah, the Secretary of State came? Well, I didn’t hide it. Are we harming Russia? Why should they survive and mourn”, the Belarusian president denies his „Russian friends“.
Lukashenko even recalls Vladimir Putin’s advice years ago: “I was in the USA, there they reproached me that I imposed a dictatorship in Belarus. So be gentler, do not quarrel, we have to deal with them.”
