Additionally, Erdogan is threatening to invade Cyprus over the the Greek Cypriots’ gas exploration in the Mediterranean Sea. The piece also notes Erdogan appears emboldened by his invasion of Afrin, Syria, which the head of Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs described as “jihad.”
