Kosovo opposition gives ultimatum to government

Tens of thousands of protesters demonstrated in Pristina on Wednesday, marking Kosovo’s independence day and calling for the government to resign, Balkan Insight reports. Opposition leaders threatened “unstoppable” protests if Prime Minister Isa Mustafa does not resign by February 27. For months, Kosovo opposition leaders and activists have been protesting Pristina’s EU-brokered deal with Belgrade and its border demarcation deal with Montenegro. The deal with Serbia calls for the creation of an association of Serb municipalities within Kosovo.
